PROBLEM SOLVING

Helping solve those behavior problems

You’re here because your dog is displaying one (or more) behavioral problems that aren’t fitting in with you or your family.  We understand – and we’re happy to help!  We’re one of the leading companies in behavioral problem solving for dogs!  Being able to come to your home to address these issues is key to helping solve the problem at the source of the issue.  It also provides a flexibility you won’t find in a “typical” group class because we are coming to you and your dog – so we can meet at local parks, pet stores, etc. as needed to work on specific problems during training.  Not to mention: it’s easier on you since we can work around your schedule and you don’t have to take your dog anywhere.

Coming to you also means we can address ANY AND ALL behavioral problems you are having.  From basic “puppy problems” like housebreaking, playbiting, chewing, and jumping – to more extreme cases like separation anxiety and aggression issues – we cover them all.  In fact, we’re one of the few companies that does work with aggression, so we have a lot of success!

Do you see one (or more!) of your dog’s behavior problems listed below?

Common Behavior Problems

HousebreakingLeg HikingFence JumpingBarking
PlaybitingDoor CrashingCar SicknessBegging
Jumping On PeopleMounting DiggingChewing
PullingStealing Food PiddlingBiting
Won't ComeGoing Through TrashGrowlingSeparation Anxiety

Extreme cases:

What we would consider as more extreme cases are Aversions, Anxiety, and Aggression.

AversionAnxietyAggression
People - Too shy/timid to interact with people; runs and hides, shivers, etc.Separation - Doesn't like to be separated from you or another pet in the house; can be destructive and/or vocalDogs - Growling, lunging, snapping at, or biting another dog they interact with in a non-playful way
Dogs - Doesn't want to interact with other dogs; runs/hides, shakes, etc.Noises - Fireworks, vacuums, any other loud noise in the home; your dog may either run and hide or redirect their anxiety and bark/attackPeople/Children - Growling, lunging, snapping at, or biting at a person or child in a non-playful way either in the home or in public
Fear - People, children, dogs, etc.; your dog may cower and shake, or redirect and attackFear - Whether cornered or not, biting at or lunging at a person or animal in your home or in public because they are scared
Resource Guarding - Taking food, a toy, or an object they have "stolen" and guarding it by growling/snarling/biting/snapping

If your dog exhibits any of these behavior problems, don’t worry! They can still be trained and rehabilitated, but it might take longer.  The length of time it takes to train depends on a few factors:

  1. The individual dog
  2. The length of time the behavior has been allowed to occur
  3. How quickly the dog responds to training

This is why the evaluation is so important – it allows us to see the level of the behavior so we can get a better estimate of how long with think it will take to train.  And with our Lifetime Betterdog Warrantee, we’re always here for you!

omg Darren was great with my little maltipoo. Before the training he would not come, or listen. He would lunge at the other dogs while walking. And lastly he would bark so loud I could not even conversate with my neighbors he was so loud. My baby is a completely different dog after 5 sessions. Highly recommend.read more

Stephen has been wonderful with tune-ups with Jewel. He came to our house and immediately went to work on her door crashing. I didn’t even realize that was a big deal. Today I had a FedEx delivery I had to sign for and she ran to the door as usual. I just pointed and said ‘back’ and she went and sat on the carpet so that I could calmly step outside and sign. The FedEx guy was very impressed! So much better than squeezing my way out the door while she’s trying to get out. In addition, the long leash training Stephen did has been working out wonderfully with her on our beach walks. It’s just so great to see her progress. I highly recommend Stephen to work with your dog!read more

Steve from DTIYH has really made a difference for our rescue Hannah. She came to us two years ago and loves people but not so much other dogs. Steve has worked with us and taught us techniques to help her become calmer when other dogs are around. Still a work in progress but I can already see the difference. The monthly tuneups are great in allowing us to work with other dogs around. It is amazing to see the improvement. I worked with other trainers with other companies and they were no help. Steve has great patience and really knows what to do to help us and Hannah. I highly recommend DTIYH!🐾read more

Luna and Gunner came to live with us at 6 weeks old. After a couple weeks, we noticed Luna (female) couldn’t hear born this way, we didn’t know the first thing about training a deaf dog, but she was already part of the family. Making contact with DTIYH was the best decision we ever made. Steve has been awesome to work with, the fact he was able to take on two puppies one that couldn’t even hear was more then I could ask for. In a few weeks, Luna and Gunner responded to the training so well, we’re so happy. They get better and better every day. We owe it all to Steve.read more

without hesitation my answer is ABSOLUTELY! Miranda is just amazing. I have a 120lb cane corso who is fully trained, cgc, therapy, but I could not figure a way to get her into our swimming pool for exercise. Miranda did and I'm so grateful. Since our home is where our dog does much of his learning and develops most of his habitual behaviors, we only found it appropriate to give the in home dog training program a try…we were NOT disappointed! We highly recommend Dog Training In Your Home. Miranda was very professional, personable, kind and extremely easy to work with. Pierre (and our whole family) loved Miranda! She has extensive knowledge of training and offers fabulous information and advice to her audience regarding dog behavior. We recommended Miranda and Dog Training In Your Home without hesitation to anyone that has a fur baby that needs some support.read more

I enrolled in petsmart puppy class, these classes are SO much more helpful. In class they could not see or experience actual problems by coming to your home it is addressed, corrected, and less stressful for pet and owner. I am sorry I spent the money on them. We found this company online just as they were starting the franchise here. Our instructor drove 2 hours each week to train our dog and teach us. We were so grateful. They now have Lynn White as their trianer for Myrtle Beach. We could not be more pleased. Her command of attention and love from our dog was immediate and he followed her lead with every new command. Her teaching for us was very clear. She made it very possible to implement what she taught us throughout tthe week. We are so grateful and our little guy is becoming a new dog. Please, anyone in search of great training and teaching, call this company and ask for Lynn White.read more
